Social security numbers are no secret for residents of Oklahoma County. Records posted online by the county clerk reveal this sensitive information to anyone willing to dig up the right documents.

Social Security numbers of numerous prominent Oklahoma County residents were found with ease and in no case did we find a document where the Social Security number had been redacted, or blacked out, as is required under federal law.

So, even if these people had taken every precaution and read securitymusings.com every day, they would still face possible identity theft because their SSNs were posted for anyone to see. It almost makes me want to give up on trying to keep my information secure altogether…almost.
