They got a lot of bad press, especially from security quarters...but to what end? Their sales stayed about the same, the stock price went up and their payout wasn't, all things considered, all that great -- even he settlement with Visa and the banks. Their reputation simply wasn't all that damaged in the areas it mattered most, as near as I can tell. I’m not sure that TJX actually did take a hit.
